Robot overview

Featuring the world's first autonomous battery-swapping system and a collaborative AI "Co-Agent," Walker S2 is designed to integrate into the world’s most complex manufacturing environments - from automotive assembly to aerospace.

The Walker S2 is the flagship of UBTECH’s "S" series, specifically engineered to meet the rigorous demands of Smart Factories. Standing 1.76 meters tall and weighing 70–95 kg (depending on configuration), it is built to human proportions to navigate workstations, conveyors, and doorways designed for people.

Running on BrainNet 2.0 and the ROSA 2.0 operating system, the S2 is a "full-stack" humanoid. It doesn't just perform tasks; it understands intent through its Co-Agent system, allowing it to detect anomalies on a production line and adjust its behavior without human intervention. While others are in beta, UBTECH has already moved into mass production, with over 1,000 units manufactured at its Liuzhou facility as of early 2026.

Key
Technical Breakthroughs
  • Autonomous Battery Swapping: The S2 features a world-first dual-battery architecture that allows it to navigate to a station, swap its own power packs, and return to work in under 3 minutes. This eliminates the "charging bottleneck" and enables true 24/7 operational availability.
  • Human-Eye Binocular Vision: Utilising a pure RGB binocular stereo vision system and deep-learning depth estimation, the S2 achieves human-like spatial perception. This allows for sub-millimeter precision in assembly tasks without the need for expensive LiDAR sensors.
  • High-Torque Industrial Waist: A proprietary waist servo design allows for ±162° rotation and deep squats. This "ground-reaching" flexibility enables the S2 to pick up items from the floor or reach into deep bins that traditional bipedal robots struggle to access.
  • 6-Axis Force Feedback: Every joint in the S2’s 4th-generation bionic arms is equipped with force sensors. This "tactile intelligence" allows the robot to perform delicate operations like plugging in electrical connectors or handling fragile composite materials in aircraft manufacturing.
Deployment
+ Scalability
  • Global Enterprise Partnerships: In a major 2026 milestone, Airbus began deploying Walker S2 units for aircraft assembly, marking the first time a humanoid has entered the aviation manufacturing ecosystem. Other key partners include Mercedes-Benz, BYD, and Foxconn.
  • Massive Production Scale: UBTECH is leading the industry in volume, with a confirmed roadmap to produce 10,000 units in 2026. This scale is supported by a supply chain that is over 90% localised, significantly reducing the "rare earth" bottlenecks facing Western competitors.
  • Proven Order Backlog: By early 2026, UBTECH reported a humanoid order book exceeding 1.4 billion yuan (~$200M), signaling a shift from small-scale pilots to multi-site industrial rollouts.
  • Beyond the Factory: While factory-first, the S2 is already being scaled for "non-traditional" labor, including a $37 million contract for logistics inspection and patrol duties at the China-Vietnam border, proving its readiness for outdoor and semi-structured environments.
