PAL Robotics is a Barcelona-based robotics company (founded in 2004) that builds humanoid, service, and mobile manipulation robots for research and businesses. It emphasises platforms that integrate into real workplaces and spaces, using modular hardware and ROS/ROS 2 software so teams can customize sensors, arms, and interfaces to their applications.
For mobile manipulation, PAL’s core line is TIAGo, a configurable mobile manipulator used for navigation, perception, grasping, and HRI research. TIAGo Pro is the next-generation mobile manipulator, combining an omnidirectional base with higher-reach manipulation options for more demanding lab and pilot deployments. PAL also sells TIAGo Base and TIAGo OMNI Base as mobile foundations for intralogistics and custom builds.
For social use, ARI is an interactive service robot designed for reception, guidance, events, and presentations. TIAGo Head is a dedicated HRI/embodied-AI platform that blends social robotics and conversational AI with an expressive “head” and
PAL’s legged and humanoid portfolio includes TALOS, a high-performance humanoid research robot (175 cm tall) designed for compliant, torque-controlled manipulation, and REEM-C, a robust biped research platform that can walk stably, climb stairs, and support AI and vision research. Kangaroo is a biped built for locomotion and jumping research and is now offered as a purchasable product.
For retail and facilities, StockBot is an autonomous RFID inventory robot that navigates stores to collect stock data and support replenishment decisions. Looking ahead, PAL’s “future robots” largely mean continued iterations of these platforms—more capable TIAGo-class manipulators, more expressive HRI robots, and increasingly deployment-ready legged humanoids.
