Unitree B2

Robot overview

The Unitree B2 is a high-performance industrial quadruped built for environments where wheeled robots, fixed automation or conventional mobile platforms may struggle. Its value is not only in movement speed, but in its ability to travel across uneven ground, stairs, slopes and complex site conditions.

For UK businesses, B2 is most relevant where the challenge is mobility, inspection or access rather than human-like manipulation. Potential use cases include industrial inspection, utilities, energy sites, facilities, infrastructure, research, emergency-response evaluation and advanced robotics development.

Unitree positions B2 as an industrial quadruped platform with all-terrain capability, optional wheeled-leg configuration, plug-in battery support and autonomous charging options depending on configuration. Unitree lists B2 with a maximum running speed of over 6m/s, walking load above 40kg, standing load of at least 120kg and unloaded walking endurance above five hours, subject to configuration and operating conditions.

TRG helps businesses assess whether B2 is suitable for the intended site, task, support route, risk profile and commercial model before moving into purchase, pilot or deployment planning.

Key
Technical Breakthroughs

Industrial-grade mobility
B2 is designed for difficult terrain, including uneven surfaces, slopes, stairs and obstacles. Unitree lists obstacle-crossing capability up to 40cm, slope climbing above 45 degrees and sustained stair-climbing capability depending on conditions.

High load capacity
For payload-led applications, B2 offers stronger carrying capability than smaller quadruped platforms. Unitree lists a standing load of at least 120kg and a continuous walking load above 40kg.

Longer operating endurance
B2 is designed for extended field use. Unitree lists unloaded walking endurance above five hours and walking endurance with a 20kg load above four hours, with performance varying by configuration, environment and use case.

Inspection-ready platform potential
B2 can support inspection-led applications where mobility, perception and payload integration matter. Unitree references industrial inspection, power inspection, infrared scanning and 3D mapping as application areas for its quadruped robot solutions.

Optional wheeled-leg configuration
For some environments, B2 can be configured with wheeled and legged forms. This may make it more suitable for mixed environments where speed and terrain adaptability are both important.

Deployment
+ Scalability

B2 should be assessed as an industrial mobility and inspection platform, not as a direct substitute for a humanoid robot. Where a humanoid may be relevant for human-shaped environments, tools or manipulation, B2 is more relevant where the business need is site access, mobility, inspection, payload movement or data capture.

Before committing to a Unitree B2, UK buyers should review:

  • Intended use case and site conditions
  • Payload, sensor and integration requirements
  • Indoor versus outdoor operating environment
  • Operator training and supervision model
  • Risk assessment and safety controls
  • Data, cyber and network requirements
  • Maintenance, spares and support expectations
  • Whether purchase, pilot or staged evaluation is the right route

TRG provides an official Unitree dealer route for UK organisations exploring Unitree robots for business, research and industrial applications.

We can help assess the right Unitree platform, compare B2 against other Unitree models, review use-case fit, structure commercial options and coordinate the next step with the relevant manufacturer information, support route and deployment requirements.
